Income Tax in Vadodara
Income tax return filing done right the first time
Most income tax notices come from small, avoidable issues — a missed interest entry, a wrong ITR form, or income in your AIS that never reached your return.
We reconcile your income with the Annual Information Statement (AIS) and Form 26AS, compare the old and new tax regimes, and only then file your return. After filing, we track e-verification, processing and refunds, and respond if the department raises a query.

Good to know
Important income tax points for this year
Rules change often. These are the points we see clients miss most — ask us how they apply to you.
The Income-tax Act, 2025 is now in force
It replaces the 1961 Act from 1 April 2026. Income from tax year 2026-27 onwards falls under the new Act, with a single “tax year” replacing previous year and assessment year. Returns for FY 2025-26 are still filed under the old Act.
The new tax regime is the default
Unless you opt out, the new regime applies. Salaried individuals can choose every year; taxpayers with business income have limited chances to switch.
Advance tax is due in four instalments
If your tax payable after TDS is ₹10,000 or more, pay advance tax by 15 June, 15 September, 15 December and 15 March to avoid interest.
Check your AIS before filing
Interest, dividends, share trades and high-value transactions reported to the department appear in your AIS. Income missing from your return is a common reason for notices.
Late filing has a cost
A belated return attracts a late fee of up to ₹5,000 (₹1,000 if total income is up to ₹5 lakh), interest on unpaid tax, and some losses cannot be carried forward.
E-verify within 30 days
A return is not complete until it is verified. Unverified returns are treated as not filed, and refunds do not move.

Frequently asked questions
Income Tax questions, answered
It depends on your income sources. ITR-1 is for resident individuals with simple salary, one house property and interest income within limits; ITR-2 covers capital gains; ITR-3 and ITR-4 cover business or professional income. We select the correct form — a wrong form can make the return defective.
It depends on whether your accounts need an audit. Most salaried individuals have the earliest due date, typically 31 July, while audited businesses get more time. Dates are sometimes extended, so we confirm the exact date that applies to you and aim to file well before it.
Usually yes. You can file a belated return within the permitted time with a late fee and interest. After that, an updated return (ITR-U) may still be possible with additional tax. The sooner you act, the lower the cost.
Common reasons are an unverified return, a bank account that is not pre-validated on the portal, a mismatch with AIS, or an old outstanding demand being adjusted. We check the status and fix the cause.
Filing is still required in some cases — for example when certain high-value transactions or foreign assets are involved — and it is the only way to claim a refund of TDS. A filed return is also useful proof of income for loans and visas.
